The North Little Rock City Council decided in a meeting March 26 not to allow a church along Interstate 40 to cut into the hillside below homes in a neighborhood to add a parking lot. The planning commission approved the request from First Pentecostal Church at 1401 Calvary Road to make the cut into the hill in 2010, but the city council still had to approve the proposal for the plans to proceed.
