Patrioteer,
I don't regularly follow the newspaper's comments blog, so I missed your question about what kind of Christian I am.
I am an orthodox Trinitarian Christian. I follow Jesus as the Son of God, fully-divine, fully-human as the ancient creeds proclaim. I live my life in Christ, filled with the Holy Spirit as a member of Christ's Body. And when I fail to live up to his calling, I confess and receive God's forgiveness.
My ethic is grounded in Jesus' summary of the law: Love God; love neighbor as self. And my passion and calling is to connect people with God.
I read the Bible and pray daily, and nearly each weekday I write a reflection on the Daily Office readings in the (Episcopal Church) Book of Common Prayer (psalms and a reading from the Old Testament, the Epistles and the Gospels). If you'd like to receive those daily reflections, sign up here: http://www.stpaulsfay.org/id137.html
Thanks for the chance to offer a bit of witness.
Lowell
