The Walton Arts Center lot along with the lot behind Grubs and the Kingfish bar are pay as you stay lots. Rates: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. — 50 cents per hour or $3 max. These lots are also available for $35 per month. Participates in this program cannot stay later than 4 p.m., or risk getting an overtime parking ticket. Residents

Proof of residency must be verified by 1) Current vehicle registration showing an address within the district, identifying applicant specifically as a resident at that address. 2) Property tax bill showing person's name as tax payer and home address within the district. 3) Residential lease agreement with address within the district, identifying applicant specifically as a resident at that address. (Only one required.)

Guest passes — 2 permit hang-tags per household or 30 guest passes per month. (Choose only one)

Dickson Street Employees

Free parking in city-metered downtown lots after 5 p.m. Free parking in the Church of Christ parking lot at the corner of Center Street and School Avenue when church is not in service. Free parking at any single-metered space after 5 p.m. (These are the old-style coin-operated meters.) Free parking in the Central United Methodist Church Garage. (Enter on Lafayette Street)

Full-time workers can apply for 22 discounted parking visits per month. This program provides parking at 90 percent off what ever rate is in place at the time. Must verify employment through a pay-stub. Part-time workers (fewer than 35 hours per week) are eligible for 11 discount parking coupons.
