Parking On Dickson Free This Week

— Parking in the Dickson Street entertainment district will be free of charge through the rest of the week, due to the Bikes Blues and BBQ motorcycle rally that begins Wednesday.

The city began waiving parking fees on Monday for the entire district, officials announced in a news release. The free parking continues through Saturday.

Residential permit parking around the Dickson Street area will continue to be enforced, beginning at 10 a.m. daily. Residential spaces are those numbered 1 through 299. They are reserved for the use of area residents and their guests.

Paid parking will resume on Sunday, beginning at 2 p.m. The Fayetteville City Council recently passed an ordinance rolling back the daily start time to 2 p.m. for the on-street and lot parking involved in the Dickson Street area paid parking program.

Parking meters in the downtown square area will require payment as usual during weekdays from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.
