EDITORIAL: Meanwhile ...

As the medical world figures out if remdesivir can be effective as a treatment, The Wall Street Journal reports this week that German company BioNTech is working with Pfizer on trials for an actual vaccine.

The folks at Pfizer say it will begin experiments on people as early as, well, now. A couple hundred healthy volunteers ages 18-55 will be shot up with this new drug, and they'll be given different doses. All this will be tracked to determine the most effective dose, if there is one.

If all goes according to plan, and this experimental vaccine proves not so experimental, then the world might see the first immunizations, for emergency use, in the fall.

There are a lot of caveats there. And a long way to go if everything works.

Strength again.
