State’s leaders’ backing for Trump misplaced

First off, this Arkansawyer though my state was smarter than to let a spoiled, racist conman win our vote for president, an unstable man who has run every casino he ever owned into bankruptcy. Or to back a governor, for a second term, who backs this man. It’s not only the governor, but numerous reps and senators.

I don’t know if all the transplants and young Republicans know, but Arkansas is not and will never be high on the money chain. I’ve lived here all my life and worked since I was 14 years old. And now, at the age of 61, my body has poured too much concrete and pounded too many nails and worked at a processing plant to the point I was disabled by 57. And I’ve never made more than $17,000 a year. Hell, that’s why everyone wants to retire in Arkansas, because it’s cheap and labor is cheap. The cost of living is cheap.

A real Arkansawyer Democrat or Republican knows this, and I know that Asa’s pledge was to hit the ground running and never look back. And the first thing he does is given the top 2 percent a tax cut and start putting sales taxes on gas and others for jails, and other infrastructure programs, instead of putting the tax dollars that will come from medical pot and casinos back into our state. After all, Hutchinson doesn’t have to worry about the governor’s seat again, so just like his buddy Trump, it’s time to fill those pockets for their retirement. And even when Hutchinson is still saying Trump is likely to win the 2020 election.

I believe before that election ever happens, Mueller’s report will put a stop to Trump. Between the southern district of New York and the special counsel, Trump will be looking at being a felon. And, thank you, a felon can’t be president The governor and (Sen. Tom) Cotton and (Sen. John) Boozman all ought to know that.

And if there isn’t any bad feeling about what our governor, senators and reps are doing to the working man in Arkansas, I guess I’m wrong about my fellow Arkansawyers about how smart we are.

Shame on Hutchinson and his top 2 percent. That’s the state’s money.

U.S. politicians should stop

pushing for regime changes

I hate to see this newspaper leap on the bandwagon of trying to justify a coup in Venezuela. Didn’t anyone learn anything after the fake calls to war in Iraq? Please stop publishing the propaganda. This was front page “news” on March 10, with a second story on Page 2 stating that Rep. French Hill says that President Maduro’s actions have “pushed a once-prosperous nation toward desperate poverty and open tyranny.” Which is pretty much what anyone could say Donald Trump has done to this country.

Hill supports Juan Guaido, leader of Venezuela’s opposition-dominated National Assembly. So that would be like politicians from other countries recognizing Nancy Pelosi as our rightful president instead of the one who was elected.

Our politicians need to quit pursuing regime change in other countries just to steal their natural resources and give them to multi-national corporations.
