Verdi’s Requiem features SoNA and the SoNA Chorale, comprised of regional choruses and the inimitable SoNA Singers. Verdi’s masterpiece has proven incredibly popular with classical music fans and newcomers through almost a century and a half, and its popularity owes in part to the miraculous way in which he fuses opera, symphony, and Roman Catholic liturgy. No one can encounter this work without feeling Verdi’s profound love and empathy. This is a Requiem that speaks with comfort and healing for the living, rising above its function as a rite for the deceased.
