Bob Renfro

Bob Renfro, better known as "Pa Pa", went home to be with the Lord on January 23, 2023, just five days after his 79th birthday. He was surrounded by his close friends at Fayetteville Athletic Club when a heart attack claimed his life. Born into a military family in LaGrange, Texas, Bob traveled the world but finally settled down in Blytheville, Ark., for his high school years. A sports-lover he played football and baseball during most of his teen years and had a tight group of buddies that continued to this day. Bob attended UCA in Conway, Ark., on a football and baseball scholarship. His best days were ahead when he married Stephany Cox and they raised three children together: Steve, Kristi and Scott. Early on Bob knew he wanted to instill athletics into his kids' lives. He enjoyed creating obstacle courses and timed-runs in his yard in Little Rock and on neighboring school grounds. It wasn't long before other kids in the neighborhood were joining in. Time passed and his children became adults and married: Steve to Kathryn Arnold of Fayetteville; Kristi to Ty Taunton of McKinney, Texas. and Scott to Lindsy Rich of Hillsboro, Ore. Bob's dream was to one day be able to coach some of his grandchildren. And in the summer of 2012 "Pa Pa Camp" was born. It started with his first grandson Jackson and 10 of his buddies in Pa Pa's back yard with climbing ropes, and obstacle course, a timed run and a Bible study at the end. As each of his grandchildren reached fourth grade they were allowed to come to Pa Pa Camp. Through the years Emily, Anna, Kate, Will, Lainey, Maddy and hundreds of other kids got to experience not only the magic of Pa Pa Camp but the Truth of God's Word that endures forever.
