John Burns passed away on Monday, November 21, 2022, in Fayetteville, Ark., at the age of 91. He was born in Los Angeles, Calif., on June 24, 1931, to Frederick Morton Burns and his wife Luz Alvarez Burns. He spent much of his working life as a builder and wood craftsman. After living over 40 years in California, he relocated to Northwest Arkansas, then Southwest Missouri, Arizona, Nevada, and then back to Northwest Arkansas. John was a proud army veteran of the Korean War and was stationed in Germany during his service. All who met John loved his jovial nature, sense of humor, and unending devotion to his family. He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 68 years, Barbara; daughters, Jackie and Cathy and their spouses Nadine and David; grandson, Jason and granddaughter, Sophia; sisters, Lucy and Alice; niece, Christine and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert and Albert and nephew, Fred. John will be buried at the Fayetteville National Cemetery in a private graveside celebration of his life.
