Johnny Lee Sisemore, 78, of Rogers, Ark., was eternally healed on Friday, May 13, 2022, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale, surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 26, 1943, at home in Drakes Creek, Ark., to Cecil & Ruby (Brooks) Sisemore. His life's passion was learning about and teaching the Holy Bible, the word of His personal Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He faithfully served Jesus as the main pastor for Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Elkins, Ark., for seven years and Faith Regular Baptist Church in Elm Springs, Ark., for 33 years. He performed more than one thousand funerals and weddings over the span of his career in Northwest Arkansas. He traveled and preached revivals in several different states. He had a weekly radio sermon as the "Voice in the Wilderness" that broadcast on three different radio stations and reached parts of Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, and Kansas. His ministry reached thousands. Johnny's business endeavors involved real estate. He was an agent with Century 21 Galloway in Springdale, where he worked for more than 20 years. He enjoyed meeting all kinds of people in his career. He loved helping families find the perfect fit in a home, helping businesses find prime locations, and developers and farmers find the perfect land. He often reached top sales performances during his career, but the relationships he made through encounters at Century 21 Galloway will last through eternity. Johnny was an avid fisherman. It was his favorite hobby. He could spend hours on a boat and have multiple lines in the water at one time and keep them all straight. He loved telling tales about the thousands of fish he caught and the few that got away. He mostly enjoyed the time he spent with his favorite fishing partner, Jean, even if that included running the boat up on ice and rocking the boat until the ice broke. Apparently, that was some of the "best crappie spots in early spawning season." Johnny also loved traveling, seeing the world, and meeting new people. He was blessed to find love again after Jean passed and had a new travel partner in Bonnie. He visited many states, countries, and a couple different continents. He once had a surprise opportunity to preach a sermon and perform a prayer vigil/memorial while aboard a cruise ship on vacation. He said it was the largest congregation of his career. He was a wonderful husband and father. His treasured role was being Papa to his granddaughters, who he always said, "glowed in the dark." Johnny was preceded in death by both his parents; and his first wife, Jean (Couch) Sisemore; a sister-in-law, Lorene Sisemore; a brother-in-law, Bobby Lewis; one nephew, Douglas Lewis; and one niece, Rhonda Lewis. Johnny is survived by his wife, Bonnie (Bayerl) Sisemore, of the home; one daughter: Kelley (Sisemore) Van Hoose and husband, J. Max, of Springdale, Ark.; two stepsons, Eric Bayerl of Bentonville, Ark., and Scott Bayerl and wife, Courtney, of Rogers, Ark. Johnny is also survived by his brother, Windell Sisemore of Springdale; sister, Eva Levik of Rogers, Ark.; sister, Kathy Lewis of Fayetteville, Ark.; and brother, Jack Sisemore and wife LaRhonda, of Mulberry, Ark. Johnny had two granddaughters, Madeline Schemel and husband, Alex of Springdale, Ark., and Linden Van Hoose of Rogers, Ark. He had one step grandson, Thomas Bayerl of Rogers, Ark. A celebration of Johnny's life will be on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at 1 p.m. at Faith Baptist Church, 217 Elm Springs Rd., Springdale, Ark.
