Maxine Murphy

Maxine Murphy, 84. died on March 10, 2022, at Circle of Life in Springdale, Ark. She was born in July 1937 at Kingston, Ark., the daughter of Freeman and Estelle Pearl Thompson Stamps. She was a home maker for years then later retired from George's in Springdale, Ark. She loved her flowers and growing vegetables in her garden every spring. She was a member of United Baptist Church in Springdale, Ark. She was married to Wayne Murphy in November 1954 in Huntsville, Ark. Together, they had four daughters: Reta Easter of Lowell, Mary Bradley of Summers, Sharon Evans of Hindsville, and Karen Sharp of Springdale. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by three brothers: Leo Dale Stamps, Vernon Stamps, and Fred Stamps; and one sister, Thelma Underdown. Surviving in addition to her husband and daughters are two brothers: Jerrel Stamps of Springdale, Clyde Stamps of Hindsville, and Bobby Cook of Missouri. She has nine grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be March 14, 2022 at 1 p.m. and funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at the Westfield Chapel in Springdale. Rev. Mark Woods and Rev. Paul Payne will be officiating.
