Cheryl Lynn French, age 66, teacher and therapist, died peacefully on Friday, January 28, 2022. Her parents Howard Garland French and LaVerne Edna Faber French preceded her in death. She is survived by a sister, Lynette French Morris and a niece, Peyton Morris. Cheryl graduated from Fayetteville High and earned a Masters in Counselor Education from the University of Arkansas. She taught in Springdale and Brazil before becoming a gifted therapist, focusing on women with eating disorders. Several clients said of her, "She saved my life." Cheryl loved animals and rescued many from shelters. She was a hobby artist who made beautiful jewelry, terra cotta pots and sketches. A dedicated vegetarian, Cheryl was an avid runner, swimmer and hiker. In younger days she led an aerobic class, played racquetball and was proud of her skydiving adventure in 1987. Cheryl led workshops and group therapy on bulimia, anorexia, compulsive eating and teaching women to claim their identity as "invaluable, worthy and always worthy of respect." Memorials may be made to Tailwaggers, ASPCA or another animal support charity of your choice. A Memorial Service is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Monday, February 7, 2022 in the Parish Hall of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Fayetteville. A reminder that masks will be required at the church. Arrangements are with Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home, Rogers.
