John Henry Allen

John Henry Allen, was born on April 17, 1944, in Bentonville, Ark., to Harvey E. and Euna Belle Allen and he passed from this life to his eternal home on August 7, 2022, at Circle of Life in Springdale, Ark. He decided to place his trust in the Lord at a revival at his church in 1954, at the age of 10. He participated in both football and track in high school. After graduating Bentonville High School in 1962, Allen attended Central Baptist College for two years. He then transferred to the University of Arkansas, graduating in 1966 with a bachelor's degree in accounting. Allen was known and loved as a Certified Public Accountant at his private practice for over 40 years. He received several public service awards from the Springdale Chamber of Commerce and the Arkansas Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and served as president of the Springdale Lion's Club and was granted honorary lifetime membership. Allen served many years at First Baptist Church of Cave Springs in several positions, including deacon, teacher and worship leader. He served as clerk/treasurer for the Baptist Missionary Association of the Ozarks for over 40 years, as well as serving on the board of the BMA Theological Seminary for ten years and Ministers Resource Services for ten years. He loved being outdoors, fishing, hunting, camping and golfing. He cared greatly for his perennials, especially his irises. He was a man of God, dedicated to serving Him to the best of his ability and providing for his family. After his children moved from Arkansas, he diligently traveled to see them on a regular basis. He showed up for his family and demonstrated how much he loved them. He is preceded in death by his parents and older brother, Richard. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Linda Allen; daughter, Amanda (Chris) Pauley of Statesville, N.C., daughter, Janna (Jason) Burns of Farmington, son, Wade (Joanna) Allen of Rogers; grandchildren, Landon (Morgan) Pauley, Nathan (Lacy) Pauley, Abigail (Cory) Anderson, Josh Burns, Rachel Burns, Carly Allen, Caleb Allen; great-grandchildren, Spencer Pauley and Naomi Anderson; and his sister, Nancy Evans. Funeral service will be Thursday, August 11, 2022, at 2 p.m., at First Baptist Church of Cave Springs, 322 S. Main Street, Cave Springs, Arkansas, 72718, with Pastor Wade Allen and Pastor Michael Battenfield officiating. Burial will follow in Elm Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 10, 2022, from 5 until 7 p.m., at Memorial Funeral Home, 3926 Willowood Avenue, Springdale, Arkansas, 72762.
