Bill George Farrar, 89, of Van Buren passed away Sunday, July 31, 2022, in his home. He retired in 1981, serving 25 years with the Fort Smith Fire Department and was the owner/operator of Farrar's Body Shop in Van Buren. He was a member and Deacon of the Oak Grove Baptist Church in Van Buren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harley George and Mary Vada (Brock) Farrar; one sister, Doris Henry; brothers Eulis Farrar and T.C. Farrar; and a granddaughter, Lacey Standridge. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, August 6, 2022, at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Van Buren, with Fort Smith Fire Department Honors to follow at a private family burial at Gill Cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren. He is survived by his wife, Lula Farrar, of the home; two daughters, Mary Jan Blount and husband Ronnie of Van Buren, Bev Farrar of Van Buren; one son, Coleman Farrar and wife Sharon of Bella Vista; five grandchildren, Landi Brown and husband Gary, Jennifer Duke and husband Brandon, Brad Dodson and wife Becky, Summer Crabtree and husband Matt, and Tyler Farrar; nine great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Manuel Horn, Matthew Crabtree, Gary L. Brown, Tyler Farrar, Tommy Bowen, Richard Fimple, Richard Watson, Gary D. Brown and Brandon Duke.
