Walter Henry Schrader, age 79, of Rogers, died Wednesday, May 5, 2021, at his residence. He was born October 29, 1941, in Osborne, Kansas the son of Effie Mae and Edward Wesley Schrader. He enjoyed building new construction, spending quality time with his family and friends from his church. He was employed by Daisy Manufacturing for 31 years, before opening Honeysuckle Construction Company, where he developed and built many northwest Arkansas neighborhoods. He was a member of Lowell Baptist for many years. He was a Gideon for over 50 years. He was a Deacon for the church for over 60 years. He served in the Rogers Noon Lions Club for over 45 years, also he received the Melvin Jones Service Award for his service to the Lions Club. He served for over 15 years for the Rogers School Board. He served on the Arvest Community Bank Board for several years. He was a graduate of the first Dale Carnegie Class held in Rogers. He was added in 2014 to the Educator's Hall of Fame, from the Rogers-Lowell Chamber of Commerce. He received the Elbert S. Graham/Elza Tucker Award for his service to his community from the Rogers-Lowell Chamber of Commerce. He was preceded in death by: his wife, Virginia Schrader, in 2011; his parents; one brother, Eddie Schrader; one sister, Beulah Mitchell; one neice, Diana Tucker; and his chosen daughter, Sonia Stanfill. Walter is survived by one son, Michael Clark Schrader, and his wife Robin, of Lowell; two daughters, Salena Wright-Brown of Lowell, Jennifer Yaffe of Lowell; five grandchildren, Megan Schrader and her fiance, Thomas Baker, both of Austin, Texas; Preston Schrader of Rogers, Parker Zielinski of Rogers, Simon Yaffe of Tulsa, Okla., Hannah Yaffe of Lowell; four great-grandchildren, Christian Zielinski of Rogers, Jaxon Yaffe of Lowell, Denver Miller of Lowell, and Mila Yaffe of Ponca City, Okla. Visitation will be Monday, May 10, 2021, from 10-11 a.m. at Lowell Baptist Church. A celebration of Walter's life will begin at 11 a.m. at Lowell Baptist Church with Pastor Gary Thomas and Rev. Ben Rowell. Interment will be at Rogers Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Preston Schrader, Parker Zielinski, Christian Zielinski, Simon Yaffe, Aaron Pile, and Greg Stanfill. Honorary Pallbearers will be Leroy Daniel, Terry Littrell, James McGarrah, Roger Hankins, David Matthews, Eddie Faucet, Charles Bowen, Pastor Johnny Harp, and Fred Vanzent.
