Oatis P. Griffith, 97, of Springdale, passed away on January 20, 2021 at Willard Walker Hospice in Fayetteville. He was born May 1, 1923 in Harmon to Vester Griffith and Flora Collins Griffith. Oatis owned and operated Oatis Body Shop in Springdale for many years. He served in the Army during World War II. He enjoyed traveling and fishing. He loved to whistle. He never met a stranger and truly treasured spending time with his family. He was a loving husband, father, and Pa. He is preceded in death by his parents; his second wife, Wanda L. Griffith; siblings, Russell, Vernon, Ruth, Naomi, and Frieda; son-in-law, Leland Nease; grandson, John Nease, and great-grandson, Tyler Nease. Survivors include his wife Gloria Griffith of the home; two sons, Raymond Lee Griffith and wife Josetté of Texas and Oatis Paskell Griffith Jr. and wife Kim of Centerton; one daughter, Carolyn Nease of Springdale; two stepsons, Donny Gaines and wife Cindy of Oklahoma and Ronnie Gaines and wife Mylisa of Oklahoma; one step-daughter, Twyla Gaines and wife Macklyn of Oklahoma; one sister, Lois Griffith of Springdale; six grandchildren, Kevin, Scott, Mark, Lindsay, Amy, and Shelby, and many great grandchildren. Graveside service will take place on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at 10 a.m. at Elm Springs Cemetery in Elm Springs. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 from 5-7 p.m. at Sisco Funeral Chapel in Springdale. Online condolences can be left at www.siscofuneral.com.
