David Stroud Kelsey of Fayetteville, Ark., was born January 4, 1951, in Denville, N.J., to Dana and Florence Lindabury Kelsey. David passed from this life Saturday, October 10, 2020, in Fayetteville at the age of 69. He was a Fayetteville business owner for over 40 years, with businesses including Domino's Auto Clinic, Kelsey's Texaco, Dave Kelsey's Performance Automotive, Daddy Dave's Economy Liquor, and Hobby Shop Auto Repair. He was also a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. Dave was an extraordinary automobile mechanic and warmhearted family man. He had a well-known passion for cars: he loved to collect, restore, rebuild, and drag race classic cars. In his free time, he enjoyed reading auto magazines, the newspaper, building model cars, woodworking, slalom water skiing, and was an avid Nascar fan. Growing up next to Indian Lake in Denville, N.J., Dave was also accomplished in competitive ice speed skating and water skiing. He is survived by his wife, Jeannie Kelsey; former spouse, Kathy L. Kelsey of Fayetteville, Ark., mother of his two sons Dale and Kevin Kelsey of Fayetteville, Ark.; sister, Barbara Miller of Mt. Arlington, N.J.; brother, John Kelsey of Hayesville, N.C.; and two grandchildren, DeElla and Archer. David is preceded in death by his mother, father, and sisters, Joyce Lusardi and Judy McCarter. Memorial service will be at 11 a.m., Monday, October 26, at St. John's Lutheran Church, followed by a classic car and hot rod escort in his honor to Fairview Memorial Gardens. Cremation arrangements are by Nelson Berna Funeral Home.
