Blanche Elaine McGee Burris, age 96, was born Sept. 13, 1924, in Washington County, Ark. She went to heaven to be with Jesus on Nov. 25, 2020. She was preceded in death by her parents Jim and Sarah McGee; her husband of 55 years Huelet C. Burris; two brothers Hugh McGee and Patrick Emmitt McGee; three sisters, Agnes Hughes, Katherine Jones, and Nancy Sorum; grandson Glen Ray Smith; great-grandson Cole Ray Hall Smith, sister-in-law Joyce McGee. Blanche was survived by her brothers James McGee and Bill McGee, and sisters Wilma Laha and Marinel Mills; brother-in-law Paul Sorum, four children Zelpha Johnson and husband Don of Springdale, Arkansas, Linda Cranford and her late husband Don of West Fork, Ark., Carl Burris and his wife Sara of Henderson, Texas, Rita Boydstun and husband Guy of West Fork, Ark.; her nine grandchildren Donald Johnson, Jr., and wife Barbara, Diana Johnson-Rosenkrans and husband Charles, Melissa Santell, Guy Boydsturn, Jr., and wife Youngmi, Carla McCauley and husband Gene, Kenneth Boydstun and wife Rebecca, John Burris and wife Heather, Matthew Boydstun and wife Nancy, Huelet (Huey) Smith; and many great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. Blanche accomplished many things in her life. She was a wife, homemaker, and mother of four. She taught school at Low Gap and worked at Baldwin Piano. She attended Southside Baptist Church. She served God as a Sunday School teacher and pianist. She was active in Baptist Ford Homemakers Club and the West Fork Quilting Club. She will be remembered for her quilts and love of her family. Pallbearers are Donald Johnson, Jr., Kenneth Boydstun, Matthew Boydstun, John Burris, Aaron Smith, and Isaiah Smith. Services will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home with David McClelland officiating. Interment will follow at Mineral Springs Cemetery, West Fork, Arkansas. Masks are required at both the service and interment. A special thanks to Elite Hospice group.
