Barbara J Korn Blasi

Barbara J Korn Blasi, 86, of Bella Vista, Ark., passed away November 8, 2020. She was born August 26, 1934, in Salina, Kan., to Mr. and Mrs. A.R Korn. She grew up in Salina, Kan. She met and married Donald E. (Gene) Blasi on December 17, 1954, while they both attended college at the University of Kansas in Lawrence. Barbara was a member of Delta Gamma sorority and represented her beloved university as homecoming queen in 1953. She graduated in 1956 with a degree in art education. She and Gene lived in several places while Gene served in the United States Air Force. They made homes in Rome, N.Y., Colorado Springs, Colo., and Honolulu, Hawaii. It was during their years in Honolulu that Frank Broyles convinced Gene to move to Fayetteville, Ark., in 1966. Gene thought ROTC and served as Assistant Coach for the Arkansas Razorbacks under Frank Broyles. They spent four years in Fayetteville but moved to Bella Vista when Gene began working for Cooper Communities. Barbara had a career in interior decoration for many years and was a partner of B&B Interiors and the original owner of The Perfect Choice gift shop at Third Street Place in Bentonville. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Blasi (1995), daughter Victoria Blasi Hobson (2003), and daughter-in-law Ann Tonette (Toni) Blasi (2013). Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Alexandra Mitchell of Dallas; son, Lance Blasi and his wife Michelle; and five grandchildren, Natasha Hobson of Bentonville, Tyler Hobson of Pea Ridge, Grace Blasi of Fayetteville, Noah, and Samuel Stubbs of Bella Vista.
