Andrea Toth Haines

Andrea Toth Haines, 81, of Dallas, Texas and formerly of Fayetteville, Ark., died Thursday, May 28, 2020, at her home. Born January 28, 1939, in Munhall, Pa., she was the daughter of Andrew J. Toth and Mary Slinchock Toth. She attended parochial schools in Pittsburgh, Pa., and received her bachelor's and master's degrees in music and her Performer's Certificate and Artist's Diploma in organ from the Eastman School of Music. She was the recipient of a Fulbright Fellowship to Germany for organ studies with Walter Kraft in Freiburg im Breisgau and Michael Schneider in West Berlin. She taught organ at Capital University in Columbus, Ohio and at St. Mary's College in South Bend, Ind. She held various positions as church organist, including Central United Methodist Church in Fayetteville, Ark. She was a lifelong member of the American Guild of Organists and past dean of the Columbus, Ohio Chapter of the Guild. She played organ recitals throughout the United States and Europe including invited recitals for the American Guild of Organists' regional and national conventions. She is survived by four daughters, Julia Wrabl of Baltimore, Md., Susan Haines of San Francisco, Calif., Katherine Schwind of Burleson, Texas, Carolyn Haines of Wichita Falls, Texas, five grandchildren, Alex Wrabl, and Gracie, Clara, John Michael, and Mary Kate Schwind, and her sister, Camille Toth of Monroeville, Pa. She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry K. Haines, her parents, Mary Slinchock and Andrew J. Toth and her sister, Joanne McCrady. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to a charity of your choice.
