Melvin "Tiny" Shackelford

Melvin "Tiny" Shackelford, age 86, of Fayetteville, passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2020. He was born November 8, 1933, in Greenland, Ark. to Oran and Flora Hankins Shackelford. He loved his garden and took a lot of pride in it and his yard. He was a man of his word and well-respected by people that knew him. He was a longtime resident of Fayetteville. He retired from the city of Fayetteville in December 2001 after over 22 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Hazel Wages, Mary Vaughn, Pauline Keeney, and Marie Oliver; three brothers, John Shackelford, Wilburn Shackelford, and Ernest Shackelford. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Glennis; two stepdaughters, Tina Pritchett of Alabama, Bonnie Phillips of North Carolina; stepson, Fred Stroud of Missouri; four step-grandchildren, Michael Darling, Brandon Pritchett, Amanda Wieznd and Elisha Stuckesbury. Visitation will be 5 p.m. Thursday, July 30, 2020, at Moore's Chapel. Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, August 1, 2020, at Baptist Ford Cemetery under the direction of Moore's Chapel.
