William (Bill) Driscoll, 76, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Saturday, July 25, 2020, at Circle of Life Hospice. He was born November 8, 1943, in Pittsburgh, Pa., son of William Roggers Driscoll and Edith May Gatter. He graduated high school in Farmington, N.M., and attended seminary in Las Vegas, N.M. After a year, he decided this was not his calling and entered the U.S. Army. Bill started as a paratrooper but after breaking his foot on his first jump, became an aide to the Commanding General at a base in Germany during the Vietnam War. After his Army service, Bill worked in the oil fields in New Mexico and then began selling shoes in Las Vegas, Nev., and eventually owned his own stores in Las Cruces and Farmington, N.M. Bill became president of the Farmington, N.M., Jaycees and had great success with them. When he sold those stores, he opened a jewelry business and in time had stores in Nashville and Memphis, Tenn., Las Vegas and Primm, Nev., and Palm Springs, Calif. When he became ill 16 years ago with cancer, Bill closed his stores and retired to Bella Vista with his wife, Jennifer. He decided to go into the real estate business so he would have something to do and experienced a successful third career. Over the 16 years, Bill was terminal five times but always came back stronger and was given the name "Bounce Back Bill". Preceded in death by his brother, Tommy Driscoll. Survivors include his wife, Jennifer; daughters, Colleen and her husband, Terry Williams, and Sharlene Rock; sister and brother-in-law, Cathy and Doug Clein; brother, Patrick; three grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. No services are planned. Memorials may be made to Circle of Life Hospice, 1201 NE Legacy Parkway, Bentonville, Ark. 72712. Arrangements are by Bella Vista Funeral Home and Crematory.
