Robert Lee Lovelace

Robert (Bob) Lovelace, 90, of Rogers died Saturday, June 27, 2020, in Rogers. He was born in Thayer, Mo., May 12, 1930, to James and Nell Lovelace. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, and daughter, Jackie Lovelace Clemmons. Bob was an Army Veteran during the Korean War. He worked 32 years for the Army Corps of Engineers. He started his career in 1955 working at the following powerhouses, Bull Shoals in Mt. Home, Ark., Table Rock in Branson, Mo. He was assistant at Beaver Lake powerhouse in Eureka Springs, Ark., and superintendent at Ozark powerhouse in Ozark, Ark. He retired May 1987 and June 1987 he started his own business, "Bob's Golf Carts" at Ozark, Ark. In 1992 he sold his business and he and his wife, Betty, moved to Rogers, Ark. He enjoyed family and friends. His interest was fishing, golf, antique cars, playing cards and traveling. At the age of 54 years he earned his private pilots license. After retiring, he and his wife, Betty, traveled most of the United States via motor home. Bob was a member of the National Family Motor Home Association and a charter member of the local club, Ozark Prairie Sooners. He served as wagon master for two years. He was also a member of the Natural State Model A club and served as president. Bob was a Christian of the Baptist Faith. Bob is survived by his wife of 67 years, Betty, daughter, Robin Burns, grandsons, Eric Schoeppe and Natalie of Bluffton, S.C., Caleb Schoeppe and Sydney Sloan of Bethel Heights, Ark., and Sean Clemmons and Brianna of Centerton, Ark. And seven great-grandchildren, Carson, Tyler, Ayden Schoeppe, Monroe and Oxford Schoeppe and Ally and Olivia Clemmons. Graveside services will be at Fayetteville, AR National Cemetery on July 27th for family members only. In lieu of flowers, please send contributions of Circle of Life Hospice of Bentonville, Ark.
