Robert Edward "Eddie" Downing Jr.

Robert Edward "Eddie" Downing Jr., age 71, of Rogers passed away Saturday July 4, 2020 in Rogers. He was born July 24, 1948 in Dermott, Arkansas the son of Robert Edward and Wanda Sue Watson Downing. He was preceded in death by his parents. Eddie taught history and coached for 40 years at Dermott, Warren and Watson Chapel High Schools. During his life, he enjoyed helping kids, but his greatest joy was being heavily involved in his kids and grandchildren's activities. After retirement he enjoyed bowling and playing golf with family and friends. He is survived by his wife Mary Linda of 52 years, three sons Robby (Elisha), Kevin (Annick) and Lance (Leslie). He is also survived by two siblings Lana Clark (Tommy) and Rodney Downing, nine grandchildren Jeremy, Chance, Lexie, Madeleine, Lance Jr., Alex, Landon, Luke, Logan and numerous other family members and friends. Visitation will be held 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Thursday July 9, 2020 at First Baptist Church of Rogers-Pleasant Grove with Memorial Service starting at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Pinnacle Memorial Gardens under the direction of Stockdale-Moody Funeral Service.
