Theodore Carlyle "Ted" Smith, 86, of Rogers, Ark., passed away, Thursday January 16th at 11:45 p.m. He was born April 28, 1933 in Bellaire, Mich., to King O. Smith and Nora Wilson Smith. He proudly served as a fighter pilot in the United States Air Force for 5 years. Ted was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. He was truly interested in those around him and encouraged them to be their best. He loves Jesus and his family rejoices that he has left the pains of this life to be with our Lord. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Gene, Doug, Elton and Bill Smith, and one sister, Barb Koutnic. Ted is survived by his wife of 32 years, Mary Francis Smith; four children, Holly Allen and husband, Jeff of Rogers, Cathy Norwood and husband, Doug of Rogers, Randy Smith and wife, Mary of Rogers, and Susan Wilkins and husband, Tom of Hot Springs, five siblings, King Smith and wife, Martha Jean of The Villages, Fla., Rosie Pippin and husband, Mike of Traverse City, Mich., Connie Hughey of Bellaire, Mich., Caroline Pfund of Traverse City, Mich., Marilyn Ziegler of Memphis Tenn., sister-in-law, Maggie Smith and eight grandchildren. Funeral services will be Saturday January 25th 1 p.m., at Pinnacle Memorial Gardens Chapel in Rogers with Pastor Mickey Rapier officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow at Pinnacle Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from Noon that Saturday until service time.
