Larry Knapp

Larry Lee Knapp, 81, of Rogers, died December 16, 2020 at Washington Regional Hospital in Fayetteville. He was born May 13, 1939 in Lancaster, Wis., to Carson Ford Knapp and Kathryn Marjorie Walker Knapp. He proudly served his country in the US Air Force during Vietnam and met his beloved wife of 55 years while stationed in Wichita Falls, Texas. He married Shelby Jean Powell Knapp on January 8, 1966. Larry worked for trucking companies most of his life, leaving JB Hunt Transport in 1995 to start his own backhoe excavation company. He was an avid sports fan and rarely missed a high school football or baseball game. He enjoyed playing pool at the Rogers Wellness Center, attending church and spending time with his cherished grandchildren. Larry was a member of Believers Baptist Church in Rogers. He is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Lee Knapp; a granddaughter, Faith Knapp; and a brother, Carson "Corky" Knapp. Survivors are two daughters, Cassie Judd of Webb City, Mo., Candice Donahue (Chris) of Bentonville; siblings, Greg Johnson (Carol) of Tuscan, Ariz., Brett Johnson of Tuscan, Ariz., Vickie Best (Mark) of Melbourne, Fla., Debbie Knapp (Mark Stallings) of Gardnerville, Nev., Roberta Schuler (Joel) of Tuscan, Ariz., Rebecca Clark of Tuscan, Ariz.; grandchildren, Jamie Chesnut (Holly), Jeremy Chesnut (Sarah), Cory Judd (Chelsey), Emily Judd, Kyle Judd, Carson Judd, Ashley Knapp,Tyler Knapp, Trinity Knapp; great-grandchildren, Makenna, Oliver, Hudson and Hadlee. A memorial service is planned for Wednesday, December 23 at Believers Baptist Church, 924 S C St, Rogers, Ark., 72756 at 6:30 p.m., with an informal visitation and meal at 5:30 p.m. All are welcome. A graveside service at Tucks Chapel Cemetery will be held on a later date. Arrangements are by Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge. Online condolences may be made at siscofuneralhome.net.
