Gerald Carr, 88, died on Friday, December 18, 2020 at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville, Ark. He was born November 4, 1932 at Paris, Arkansas to the late Jay and Emma Carr. He and his wife had recently moved to Rogers, Arkansas from Bryant, Arkansas. He was a devout Christian and member of Midtowne Church, Benton. Gerald was active in Lions Clubs International for 50 years, serving in many leadership roles including District Governor. He was appointed by Governor Jim Guy Tucker as a member of the Board of Directors for the State Division of Services for The Blind, where he served six years as chairman. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Glenda Wylie Carr; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy (Carroll) Posey of Benton; Melissa (Steve) Farrar of Rogers; seven grandchildren, Lana Farrar (Bobby) Hartzog of Katy, Texas; Alicia Farrar (Denny) Goodson of Benton; Kerri Farrar (Brad) Ross of Prosper, Texas; Celeste Posey (Mitchell) Cooper of Seattle, Washington; Andrew Farrar of Little Rock; London Farrar (Riley) Hall of Fayetteville; Grant Posey of Benton; four great-grandchildren, Connor and Cameron Goodson of Benton; Riley and Brynlee Ross of Prosper, Texas. Visitation will be Monday, December 21, 2020 at Moore's Chapel, 206 West Center Street, Fayetteville, Arkansas at 11:30 a.m., followed by the service at 12:30 p.m., conducted by Carroll Posey. Burial will be at the National Cemetery in Fayetteville. Grandchildren and great-grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
