Willamena Berens, known to friends and family as Willie, of Rogers, Ark., passed away on December 17, 2020. Willie was born on March 11, 1943, in Springfield, S.D., to Peter and Tena Louwerse (Romkema), she is the third of four children raised on the family farm. She graduated from Springfield High School and moved to Omaha, Neb., soon after with her cousin Hendrene to live in the big city. She met and married her husband and partner in life Howard Berens on November 18, 1962. They moved their family to Arkansas in 1984 and have called it home since then. Willie was a long time member of First Baptist Church in Rogers and sang with the Saints Alive choir. She sold Avon for over 40 years and mentored new sales representatives. Howard and Willie enjoyed traveling together and shared many adventures throughout their marriage, seeing all 50 states together, much of Europe and Central America. Surviving are her son, Scott Berens (wife Sandy) of Rogers, Ark., daughter, Tricia Johnson (husband Robert) of Lafayette, Ind., her siblings, Pete Louwerse of Waco, Texas., Kathy Bussey of Springfield, S.D., six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Howard Berens, in 2017, and her sister, Henrietta Schrader. A celebration of Willamena's life will be Monday, at 10:30 a.m., at First Baptist Rogers at the Pleasant Grove Campus with Pastor Wes George officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 10 a.m. Inurnment will be at later date at Benton County Memorial Park located in Rogers. Arrangements by Epting Funeral Home, Bentonville.
