Beverly Joanna Farr, 83, a long-time resident of Gravette, Ark., was escorted by Angels to Heaven's gates on Monday, December 7, 2020. December 7th will no longer be just the day that lives in infamy but will be the day Beverly was reunited with family, friends and people whose lives she had touched. She had run the race, finished the course and kept the faith. She was born May 24, 1937, in Colorado Springs, Colo., to the late Elmer and Beryl Smith Tierney. She was also preceded by her husbands, John Roger Jones and Jim Dale Farr, as well as her siblings, Barbara Smolik, Naomi Boyd and Eugene Tierney. After graduating High School, Beverly attended People's Bible College and graduated with a degree from the Bartlesville Wesleyan College. To quote Corrie Ten Boom, Beverly's life was not measured in duration but by donation. Her life was a constant service to others as she shared her sweet smile and many talents. From teaching Sunday School, to baking pies and volunteering as a substitute teacher at the Gravette Holiness Bible School. Her relationship with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was the most important part of her life. She shared her faith as a Missionary on the Navajo Indian Reservation in New Mexico, where she taught and ministered to the Native American school children and where she learned to make her delicious Navajo tacos. While in college, Beverly met and married John Jones of Big Bow, Kan. In the years they were married Beverly and John had Nadine, Nancy and Johnny. In 1973, John's life was taken by a tragic accident. Picking up the pieces, Beverly and her three children moved to Gravette, Ark., and began a new life. In the spring of 1974, Beverly met and fell in love with Jim Farr of Pueblo, Colo., who had recently lost his wife. In June of 1974, Beverly and Jim were married. Jim brought with him to the marriage four children, Scott, Terri, Kris and Susan. Beverly and Jim were married for 41 years until on December 15, 2015, Jim was called home to be with the Lord. Through the years Beverly attended several churches and used her musical talents in the music ministry by playing the trombone, accordion, organ and piano. Beverly enjoyed sewing, quilting, baking, reading and was a member of TOPS/KOPS community where she won numerous awards. Beverly sewed beautiful quilts, dresses and costumes for her grandchildren. Her grandchildren always looked forward to receiving in the mail their big box filled with Little Debbie's treats from Grandma Farr. Survivors include her children, James Scott Farr (Callie) of Texas, Nadine Marie St. John (David) of Okla., Terri Ann Tibbs (Robert) of Colo., Nancy Ann Martin of Ind., Kristina Lynn Thompson (Dan) of Mont., John Clark Jones (Gwen) of Okla., and Susan Marie Behrent (Brian) of Wash. 22 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, her brother-in-law(s), David Boyd, Don Farr, sister-in-law(s), Fern Tierney, Roberta Ridgway, Mary Moore, Mary Farr and numerous nephews and nieces. Although we mourn her passing, we are comforted knowing she is no longer in pain, is of sound mind and joyfully walking the streets of gold! The family wishes to extend our heartfelt gratitude for the loving care provided to Beverly by the Eastwood Manor of Commerce Oklahoma staff. The nursing home staff went above the call of duty to provide a loving and nurturing home for our precious mother and grandmother. Visitation will be held Friday, December 11, from 5-7 p.m., at Callison-Lough Funeral Home in Bentonville and her Graveside Funeral Service will be Saturday, December 12, at 2 p.m., at Hillcrest Cemetery in Gravette. Arrangements are under the care of Callison-Lough Funeral Home in Bentonville. www.CallisonLoughFH.com
