Martha Ann Webb was born May 31, 1933 in Little Rock, Ark., and died August 20, 2020, in Springdale. Known to everyone as Ann, she was a warm, generous woman who never left a room without giving everyone a hug. She kept her eye out for goodness in others and never failed to spot a silver lining. She was a loving wife of 58 years, a nurturing mother who became her daughters' best friend, and a comforting presence always ready to share both shoulders to cry on. She had a sweet sense of humor, an endearing stubborn streak, and a knack for winning at card games she didn't know the rules to. After overcoming shyness, she could talk to anyone, anywhere, and always had a kind word to say. She was a one-woman factory of cookies and cakes for her friends, never left home without an immaculate self-done manicure, and once joked that she could never volunteer at the humane society because she'd want to take all the animals home. She named her cane "Betsy" and had infinite patience for her grandchildren, even when they were decorating her like a Christmas tree. Her passion for history was so strong that she freely shared it with others, whether in casual conversation or in period costume at the Headquarters House in Fayetteville. She was a bright, caring soul, preceded in death by her husband C.W. Webb; parents Norman and Gladys Kennedy; brothers Norman and Julian Kennedy; son-in-law Edward Beggs; and grandson Daryl Beggs. She's survived by her daughters, Julie Beggs and Linda (Steve) Leedy, stepgrandson, Brad Leedy; grandson Scott (Caitlin) Beggs; great-granddaughter, Tallulah Beggs-Cima; sister, Evelyn Pullman; and cousins, Rubin Webb and Robert Mitchell. A memorial service will be held Friday, August 28 at 11:00 am at Sisco Funeral Chapel in Springdale. Instead of flowers, please donate to Bread of Life at First Church Springdale.
