In loving memory of a life well lived, it is with heavy hearts that we acknowledge the home going of Michael (Mike) Dwaine Wallace, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother-in-law, uncle, nephew, and friend. Michael succumbed to an underlying blood disorder which weakened his heart. He was called home on Friday, July 24, 2020 at Mercy Hospital in Rogers, Ark. Michael was a man of faith, family, community and immeasurable love. He married the love of his life, Carolyn Elaine Lutcher on Nov 22, 1980. For 39 years, they walked together as eternal loves, inseparable allies and best friends. Michael's life journey took him from his birthplace in Texas to his childhood home in Southern California, educational and entrepreneurial endeavors in N. C., to US service in the Middle East, and technology practices in New York City before he made Bentonville, Ark., his home. No matter the geographic location, Michael walked in faith with a mission to unite families and to influence the world through positive action. Michael never failed to affirm the talents and possibilities of those he encountered. He truly never met a stranger. Michael was also devoted to community service and was highly recognized for his professional accomplishments. Most recently, he held professional positions with Rizing Consumer Industries and Walmart Stores, Inc. Michael held several technology certifications and was appointed to the USDA Cotton Board to Chair the Committee on Global Supply Chain Marketing and was also appointed Vice-Chair of the Importer Support Program. His mentoring circles engaged over 150 members across boundaries and generations. Locally, Mike was affectionately referred to by many as "Mr. Bentonville". He worked with a leadership heart to lend voice to the underserved and underrepresented while also building bridges of hope and possibility. Mike served as a member of the Board for downtown Bentonville, Executive Chairman AIM (Autism Involves Me), Director of Diversity & Inclusion Bentonville Film Festival, Elder/Board Member Love Ministries Family Church- his home church in Houston, Texas and Board Member, Brand New Mercies Recovery Home. A true family man, Mike held his wife and family as the lights of his life. He leaves to continue his legacy of faith in God, love of family, understanding of others, hope for good and belief in action - his forever love, wife Carolyn, loving son Michael, loving daughters, DeShena Wallace and CaShel Robert, grandchildren, Chanel, Angel, Genesis, Layla, Gabrielle, with Naomi and Michaela on the way; as well as his father Edgar Wallace, four sisters-in-law, an uncle, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Mike was preceded in death by his mother, Erma Jean Wallace in 1996. In lieu of flowers and other representations of condolence, the family requests donations be made in Michael's honor to Brand New Mercies Recovery Home. It was Michael's wish that the Home remain open and in service to the community. http://www.brandnewmercies.com\ For those also wishing to make a private donation to sustain the family, you may do so using Venmo, Carolyn Wallace (@Carolyn-Wallace-11).
