Lynda Welch, a loving wife, mother, and sister and the matriarch of the Welch family, died on Tuesday, September 28, 2018 at Bentonville's Circle of Life Hospice. She was 72. Lynda was born in Dumas, Arkansas on April 20, 1946, to Clifford and Wilma Pennington. She later met the love of her life, Jerry Welch in 1965. After one year, they were happily married and remained married until her death 52 years later. Proof that some fairy tales are real. To Lynda, her family was everything. She raised three children, Anthony, Tim, and Christina Welch. In addition to her children, Lynda had nine grandchildren, Chastity, Jeremy, Christin, Justin, Stephen, Breanna, Tyler, Hannah, and Lyndsey in addition to nine more great-grandchildren. She dedicated her life to raising her children, and helping raise her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. It would be an understatement to say that she profoundly impacted their lives. All of her children and grandchildren knew they could depend on her for anything. Lynda also was a long time member of her church, Calvary Tabernacle. However, she didn't merely attend church. Lynda was a devoted, God-fearing woman who never missed a service until her illness prevented her from attending. However, in her many years of dedication to her faith, she influenced and touched the lives of many, and her legacy will live on as a testimony to God's grace and mercy. She lived a life that was an example of this for all to see. Our Lord and savior, Jesus Christ, has gained the most beautiful soul for all of eternity. Lynda was preceded in death by her parents and three of her siblings: Thurston Pennington, Hershel Pennington, Flora Pennington-Cosby, and Clifford W. Pennington. She is survived by her loving husband and three remaining siblings: Jerry Welch, Carolyn Pennington-Higginbotham, Robert Pennington, James Pennington, Michael Pennington, and Cynthia Pennington-Roberts. Visitation will be at Callison-Lough Funeral Home 605 W Central Ave Bentonville, Arkansas from 2-4 p.m., and the memorial service will take place at Calvary Tabernacle 2612 E Central Ave Bentonville, Arkansas at 1 p.m. Burial will be directly after the memorial at the Bentonville Cemetery, 400 SW F St., Bentonville, Arkansas. The family encourages all to attend, and celebrate the life and legacy of an extraordinary woman.
