Lyna Lee Montgomery

Lyna Lee Montgomery, age 93, of Fayetteville passed away Saturday October 27, 2018 in Fayetteville. She was born October 18, 1925 in Granby, Missouri the daughter of Walter and Grace Davidson Montgomery. She was preceded by her parents and her sister Marianna Bell. She received her PhD in English from the University of Arkansas and was a professor at the University from 1966 through 2014. She was a recipient of numerous awards and honors during her tenure. She was a long-time member and Sunday school teacher at First Baptist Church in Fayetteville. She is survived by her nephew Christopher "Monty" Bell and his wife Sharon of Crossville, Tennessee and a niece Kristy Covey of Neosho, Missouri and other family members. Visitation will be held 12 noon Wednesday October 31, 2018 at First Baptist Church in Fayetteville with Funeral Service starting at 2 p.m. Interment will be at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Neosho, Missouri at 11 a.m. on Thursday.
