Vernon Clinton Hammock

Vernon Clinton Hammock, 86, of Siloam Springs, Ark., died Oct. 25, 2018, at Veterans Hospital, Fayetteville, Ark. Born Nov. 7, 1931, in Oilton, Okla., he was the son of Lester Hammock and Walcie Ross Hammock. Vernon married Esther Crane on Feb. 2, 1952 in Stillwater, Okla. He was a carpenter and a member of Gum Springs Baptist Church. Vernon served our country in the Army during the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his daughter Patricia Arlene Hammock, brother Tony Hammock and sister LeVonne Bryant. Survivors include his wife Esther of the home; children Gary Hammock and wife Virginia of Jennings, Okla., Karen Brown and husband David of Yale, Okla., Randy Hammock of Prairie Grove, Ark., and Julie Biswell and husband Darrell of Prairie Grove, Ark.; eight grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; sister Linda Von Boening of Bakersfield, Calif.; brothers Jim Hammock of St. Petersburg, Fla., Ferrold Hammock of Billings, Okla., Jerry Hammock of Bixby, Okla., Lloyd Hammock of Mannford, Okla., Norman Hammock of Drumright, Okla., and Robert Hammock of Cushing, Okla. Graveside services will be at noon, Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2018, at Fayetteville National Cemetery, Fayetteville, Ark.
