Gladys Burgess

Gladys Burgess, 92, longtime resident of Gentry, Arkansas, died on October 12, 2018 in Rogers, Arkansas. Born on December 2, 1925 in Rogers, Arkansas, she was the daughter of Bill Graham and Savannah Matlock Graham. Gladys married Alan "Sam" Burgess on June 3, 1941 in Springtown, Arkansas. She worked for Simmons Foods for many years in poultry processing. After she retired from Simmons, Gladys decided to go back to work and was a line supervisor for Tyson Foods for many years before retiring again. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alan "Sam"; son, Jerry Lee Burgess; and grandson, Randy Burgess. She is survived by four children, Larry Ray Burgess and wife Donna of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Garry Burgess and wife Nona of Garfield, Arkansas, Joyce Bradshaw of Gentry, Arkansas, and Donald Burgess of Garfield; seventeen grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and great great great grandchildren; and one brother, Jay Graham and wife Jean of Inola, Oklahoma. Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at Springtown Cemetery in Springtown, Arkansas.
