John Hollis Campbell John Hollis Campbell, of Killeen, Texas, died May 5, 2016 after a valiant fight with adnoid cystic carcinoma. He was born in Waterloo, Iowa on Jan. 5, 1965 and is survived by his wife, Valerie Fulmer Campbell, of the home. John graduated from Wilkes County School System in North Carolina and served in the U.S. Army. He received helicopter training at Ft. Rucker, Alabama, later deploying with the 4thSquadron 3rd Armored Calvary Regiment to Desert Storm, where he was awarded two Bronze Stars. After his military service, he was employed by a general contractor as a Senior Helicopter Crew Chief. Among his interests were fishing, hunting, gardening and he was a loyal Green Bay Packer Fan. Those remaining to cherish his memory include his parents, Joe and Joan Campbell of Fayetteville, Ark. and his children: Bradley Joseph Campbell (Shay) of Red Rock, Texas, Skyler Osborn of Coppers Cove, Texas, Serafina Johnson-Campbell of Harker Heights, Texas; four grandchildren and extended family of cousins, aunts and uncles. A memorial service will be held 12:30, Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home Chapel in Killeen with the Rev. Ray Zischang officiating. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen. Memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society, 11000 North Mopac Expressway, Suite 100, Austin, TX 78759.
