Wayne Blake Whiteman, 68, of Rogers, passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2016. He was born on March 18, 1948 in Clarksburg, W.VA., to Raymond Everett Whiteman and Carolyn Blake Whiteman. He is survived by his son, Jonathan Damian Whiteman of Rogers, and his sister and brother in law, Carol & Mark Duckworth of Murrells Inlet, S.C. Wayne retired as a TSgt rom the U.S. Air Force in 1991 after a 20 year career that included assignments at Lakenheath AFB in England, Tinker AFB in Midwest City, Okla.; and Sheppard AFB in Wichita Falls, Texas. Wayne is a prestigious member of the Boy Scouts of America Order of the Arrow and was a Sr. Troop Leader at Philmont Scout Ranch in Cimmaron, N.M. An avid lover of the outdoors and the trails of the Grand Canyon, he always favored Phantom Ranch, having trekked to the bottom of the Grand Canyon several times. His warmest times were playing with his dog, Wall-E, who will miss his friend. A memorial service with full military honors will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, April 15 at Fayetteville National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Circle of Life, 1201 NE Legacy Parkway, Bentonville, Ark. 72712. Arrangements are by Rollins Funeral Home of Rogers.
