Lorene Carrah McCarty

Lorene Carrah McCarty, 81, of Nowata, Okla., passed from this life on February 18, 2016. She was born in Cane Hill on June 3, 1934, the daughter of Robert Frank and Lillie Bell Hurst McCarty. Lorene had many careers during her lifetime, including a truck driver and caregiver. She was a woman of great faith and trusted the Lord to guide her on her daily path. Lorene is predeceased by her parents; four brothers, Calvin, Alvin, Doyle and Darrell; and two sisters, Evelyn and Linda. She is survived by one brother, Dwaine McCarty of Missouri and two sisters, Ruth Corter and Alice McClung of Springdale. Lorene had no children, but she had numerous nieces and nephews. There will be an informal graveside service on Sunday, March 6, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Zion Cemetery in Springdale. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church or charity of your choice. Cremation is being handled by Stumpff Funeral Home in Bartlesville, Okla.
