William Edward Seffens

William Edward Seffens, 86, of Waxahachie, Texas passed away Wednesday, August 3rd. He was born February 9, 1930 to the late Edward Meeker Seffens and Lela Ione Hamilton Seffens in Norborne, Missouri. For nearly 60 years he was the loving husband of Ruth Marie (Uzdila) Seffens who preceded him. He proudly served his country in the US Air Force. As a teenager he was active in track and football and later in life, sailing, snow skiing or fishing. He enjoyed his career as a chemist in the petroleum industry and was active in several professional organizations. In addition to his wife and parents, he was also preceded by a grandson, William Sydney Seffens and his sisters, Jane and Helen. Survivors include his daughters, Karen Allred (David) and Debbie Maas (Larry) of Texas; his son, Bill Seffens (Paula) of Georgia; a brother, Jim Seffens (Gail) of California; grandchildren, Marissa Maas, Lyndsey Roper (Zach), Ryan Markert (Lindsay) all of Texas and Jessica Tkach (Joe) of Kentucky; 5 great-grandchildren and numerous extended family members, professional colleagues and dear friends. The visitation will begin at 12 noon Saturday, August 6 with the Funeral Service to follow at 1 p.m., both in the Chapel of Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers.
