Bobby Ray Anderson Sr., 66, of Burnet, Texas, passed away peacefully at his home Tuesday February 24, 2015 after a long battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Genolia Anderson; his three children, Jeff Anderson and wife Janet Anderson, Bobby Anderson Jr., and Lori and husband Steve Stobaugh. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; one great grandchild; two sisters, Gloria Prejean, Marion and husband Ricky Merlo, and numerous nieces and nephews. Bobby was preceded in death by parents, Gus T. and Laura Anderson; and five brothers, Leroy, Donald, Theodore J., Gus T., and Ronald. Bobby was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the United States Marine Corps. He served two combat tours in Viet Nam. In May of 2012, Bobby retired from the oil construction business where he worked overseas for over 30 years as a process-commissioning manager, for numerous petro chemical companies around the world. A little known fact: in 1990, Bobby along with his wife Genolia were held hostage as human shields by the Sadam Hussein regime at the onset of the first Gulf War. Bobby cherished more than anything spending time with his family, barbecuing and sharing special memories. He will be greatly missed by everyone. Bobby was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Cedar Park Texas. His faith was displayed by his love for God, his family, his friends, and his country. A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2015, from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m., at Cook Walden Capital Parks Funeral home, 14501 N. IH 35, Pflugerville, Texas. The funeral service will take place at Victory Baptist Church, 1775 E. Whitestone Blvd., Cedar Park, Texas on Monday, March 2, 2015 at 1 p.m., with a graveside service immediately following at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery.
