Hazel Marie Penn

Hazel Marie Penn, 95, of Farmington went home to be with Jesus and her beloved husband Ernest on Tuesday August 11, 2015 at Baptist Village of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. She had resided there for the last six years. She was born January 5, 1920 in Farmington. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, husband Ernest Penn Sr., daughter, Ernestine, granddaughters, Ginger and Leslie. She is survived by son Ernie Penn (Kelly) of Farmington, daughters, Dorothy Patten (Leon) of Broken Arrow Oklahoma, Lynda Adlesperger of San Antonio Texas; six grandchildren, Gary Ann Tomkalski (Don) of Tulsa Okla., Sheri Dulak of Austin Texas, Nicky Vandergriff (Bo) of San Antonio Texas, Tacy Dritt (Dan) of Omaha, Neb., Sandy Thompson of Dallas, Texas, Ray Truax, Garrett Penn of Rogers Ark. and Braden Penn of Fayetteville Ark., and nine great-grandchildren. Hazel was a lifelong member of Farmington Baptist Church. She was a teacher and a librarian for 42 years and it was her passion in life. She taught at Farmington, Greenland, Lincoln and Prairie Grove. She was a beloved teacher and mentor to hundreds of students. Hazel loved to read and taught her students that reading was their key to the world. In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to the Farmington Public Library, P.O. Box 150, Farmington Ark. 72730. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Cremation was by Floral Haven Mortuary in Broken Arrow Oklahoma.
