Truman R. Parson, 83, of Huntsville, Ark., peacefully transitioned to Heaven on July 30, 2015 surrounded by family at home after a brief illness. Born to Ernest William and Ruth Marie Dotson Parson on June 3, 1932 at Wharton, Ark. He was a wonderful and kind husband, father, brother and friend to so many. He will be missed more than words can say. A former poultry and cattle farmer and a Korean War veteran serving in the United States Air Force. He served as secretary for the local NFO chapter. Truman was a gentleman, always quick with a joke and lived a full life pursuing his interest of "Jewel Tea" and music, especially Western Swing and Bob Wills in particular. He probably knew more about the Texas Playboys than Bob himself did. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pat and Son, Kevin, and is survived by son Curren, daughter Mellonie and husband Jimmy, grandchildren, Mahria, Michelle, Maleia and Ashley and great-grandchildren, Jacob, Taylor, Morgan, Faith, Kason, Karley and Kinley. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 4, at the Huntsville Cemetery with The Reverend Butch Bolinger officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home www.brashearsfuneralhome.net of Huntsville, Ark. Pallbearers will be: Stacy Plumlee, David Konkle, Jacob Edwards, Bob Parker, Tony Downum and Byron Parson. Visitation 6-8 p.m. Monday at Brashears.
