Dr. Clifford C. Councille Jr., age 70, of Fayetteville passed away Saturday, May 17, 2014, in Fayetteville. He was born Oct. 11, 1943, in Blytheville, Ark., to Clifford C. and Carolyn Pride Councille. Dr. Councille attended Blue Ridge School for Boys in Hendersonville, N.C., his undergraduate at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, Hendrix College at Conway, Memphis State University at Memphis, Tenn. He received his doctorate of medicine from the University of Arkansas College of Medicine in Little Rock, Ark., internship at the University of Tennessee at Memphis. He completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Arkansas Medical Science in Little Rock. He was a member of Cross Church in Springdale and was a physician at Northwest Arkansas Clinic for Women and Creekside Center for Women and Laser Aesthetics. Diplomat American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Fellow in the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Society of Pelvic Reconstructive Surgeons, American Fertility Society, Arkansas Medical Society, Arkansas Foundation for Medical Care and a practicing obstetrician and gynecologist in Fayetteville for 37 years. He had a passion for sporting clays, fly fishing, and waterfowl hunting. He is survived by his wife, Elaine Branham Councille; two daughters, Ginger Davison of Kingsport, Tenn., Jennifer Clary and her husband, Josh, of Farmington, Ark.; three grandchildren, Emma Clary, Jake Davison and Ty Clary; his mother-in-law, Grace Branham of Springdale; brother and sister-in-law; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2014, in the chapel at Cross Church. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Cross Church in Springdale, with burial to follow at Pinnacle Memorial Gardens, under the direction of Moore's Chapel in Fayetteville.
