Delmar Aastrup

Delmar Aastrup, 84, of Noel, Mo., was called home on Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at his home in Noel, Mo. He was born on Jan. 7, 1930, in Humboldt, Iowa, to Alfred Aastrup and Anna Marie Pahus Aastrup. He was raised and educated in Swaledale, Iowa. He served in U.S. Army during the Korean War. Delmar married Pamela and they farmed in Clear Lake, Iowa, until moving to Northwest Arkansas in 1985. They owned several businesses until retiring to Noel, Mo., in 2004. They were members of the Bella Vista Lutheran Church and he was active in the Lutheran Braille workers. He was a former member of the Bella Vista Honors Guard. He was a lifelong Lutheran and served the Lord every day. He will be missed by all. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Pamela Jill Aastrup on Feb. 7, 2014; and brother, Alvin Aastrup. He is survived by four sons, Dan (Abbey) Aastrup, Bobby Arnold (Deb) of Albert Lea, Minn., Jay Aastrup (Paul Hadobas) of Alta Loma, Calif., Mike Aastrup (Scarlet) of Ankeny, Iowa; three daughters, Robynn Gudbaur of Noel, Mo., Vickki Kirchhoff (Mark) of Clear Lake, Iowa, Kelli Smith (Brett) of Rogers, Ark.; brother, Robert Aastrup of Mason City, Iowa; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be on Monday, May 12, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at the Bella Vista Lutheran Church, 1990 Forest Hills Blvd., with Pastor Stanley Jones officiating.
