George Wilson Donnell Jr.

George Wilson Donnell Jr., age 82, of Springdale, went to meet the Lord on March 8, 2014, in Springdale. He was born Aug. 18, 1931, in Centrailia, Ill., the son of George W. Donnell, Sr. and Lorene Rittinghouse Donnell. He attended the Church of Christ and was retired from Walmart where he was Vice-President over the auditing department. Mr. Donnell enjoyed reading, drawing and doing woodwork. He is preceded by his parents and one brother, Darrell Dean Donnell. Mr. Donnell is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jean Whisenhunt Donnell, of the home; two sons: David Kelly Donnell and his wife, Denyse, of Durham and Shon Paul Donnell of Springdale; one daughter, Shannon Loreen Donnell Eggleston and her husband, Alan, of Abilene, Texas; one sister, Katharine Willson, of Lafayette, Calif.; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at 1 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Brother Kerry Hollomon officiating. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 11, 2014, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
