Xantha N. Platt, 65, of Gentry passed away June 9, 2014, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale. She was born Feb. 9, 1949, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Arnold and Winnie Wilson Bramlett. She worked for Walmart for 27 years. Her most recent job was an advanced engineer software quality assurance. She worked in many areas of the home office, including accounting and the international division where she traveled to numerous countries. She made many long-term friends during her career. She enjoyed fishing, especially for trout, camping, traveling and visiting the ocean. Preceded in death by her brother, Rusty Bramlett. She is survived by her husband of 30 and-a-half years, Mel Platt of the home; children, Robert Mercer of Cave Springs, and Tracy Mercer and wife, Tina, of Burleson, Texas; her sister, Linda Darst of Joshua, Texas; and three grandchildren, Braxton, Brayden and Ryleigh Mercer of Burleson, Texas. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Benton County Funeral Home, 306 N. 4th, Rogers. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
