Jerry Dwain Reeves of Ozark caught the glory train on June 30, 2014. He was born on Nov. 28, 1931, in Shawnee, Okla., to Ida Fern English and Virgil McKinley Reeves. He is a member of the Disciples of Christ. A veteran of the Korean War, he served with the Oklahoma Thunderbird Division. Jerry was a 59-year member of the Tecumseh, Okla., Masonic Lodge #69. Holding a dual membership with the Tecumseh and Springdale Masonic Lodges. He served as woshipful master of the Springdale and Ozark Masonic Lodges. He was a member of the American Legion for 50 years and also held a membership with the VFW. He worked as a land man in Cambden, Ark., and Liberty, Miss., before moving to Springdale in 1959. He was a secretary, treasurer, and manager of the Washington County Title Company. He served his community as a volunteer fire fighter in Springdale and Ozark; he held many positions on city committees, including the Community Development Project, and the Boy Scouts. He moved to Ozark, Ark., in 1989 where he purchased the Franklin County Title Company. Jerry is survived by his wife of 63 years, DeMona Beasley. He is survived by his children, Jerry (S'kosh) Reeves Jr., Jaquita and Mark Neil, Jannie Bibb, James and Ginger Reeves, and Jo Dee and Bob Brouhard, all of Arkansas; a brother, Leroy Reeves; sisters, Gail Reeves and Marilyn Rountree; sister-in-law, Loudene Reeves, all of Oklahoma; and sister-in-law Juanita and Bob Dickerson of Clarksville, Ark.; 12 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Robert Reeves; son-in-laws, Gary Sutherland and David Bibb, and grandchildren, Trent Brouhard and Bo and Lori Swearingen. Services will be held at the First Christian Church on July 3, 2014, at 2 p.m. with Dr. Jim Mattson and Byron Lasiter officiating under direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark. A private family interment will be held at a later date. The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at Shaffer Funeral Home.
