Robert B. Phillips of Rogers died Feb. 15, 2014, after a year-long battle with cancer. He was born May 27, 1953, in Bentonville to Robert Edward and Alleine Rakes Phillips. A lifelong resident of Northwest Arkansas, he graduated from Rogers High School in 1972. Robert was known for being able to absolutely do anything and fix anything. Always wanting to be busy, he never lived a dull moment. He had many interests, including computers, working on cars, going to flea markets and sales-junk generally wheelin' and dealin'. His favorite had to be his motorcycles, actually winning three awards at Bike, Blues and Barbecue. He was employed at Preformed Line Products. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, James Phillips and Dollie Campbell Phillips and Beverly Rakes and Audra McFarlin Rakes; also his cousin/special friend, Dwane Phillips. He is survived by one daughter, Christine McDaniel, Fort Smith; sisters, Mary Ellen Drymon, Anderson, Mo., and Audra Marie Williams, Rogers; his aunt, Jimmie Russell, Bentonville; and the love of his life, Sherry McNabb Phillips of the home, who for 20 years was by his side — most recently caring for him until the end. He had one grandson, Jaydon; and one stepson, Brian Thompson, Mathews, N.C. A special thanks to Steve and Julie Bennett Loffland of Rogers. Also his many friends and relatives who loved and will dearly miss him. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 1, at 2 p.m. at Oakley Chapel United Methodist Church at Walnut and Promenade Boulevard in Rogers. Arrangements are with Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home, 3800 W. Walnut, Rogers.
