Betty Belle Mullinex

Betty Belle Mullenix, age 85, of Prairie Creek passed away Feb. 11, 2014, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale, with many loving friends around her. She was born in Lynch, Neb., June 16, 1928, and was adopted on Sept. 5, 1930, by John and Verna Fulmer of Omaha, Neb. She attended art school in Kansas City, Mo., and art continued to be her lifelong passion with recent endeavors in designing "Frakturs" and doing calligraphy. In 1961, she married Howard Mullenix and life took them to the San Jose, Calif., area where they lived until they moved to Arkansas 37 years ago. Betty was a member of Questers, where she served as Arkansas State President and was responsible for bringing Questers to Arkansas. She was also a member of Friends of Rogers Historical Museum board of directors. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard, who died in 2007. Betty and Howard had a love of their dogs throughout their life together. Her dog, Charlie, will miss her terribly. At her request, there will be no service. A celebration of her life will be from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 16, 2014, at Corona Restaurant, 14340 Highway 12 East, in Prairie Creek. In memory of their love of dogs, Betty requested that donations go to the Benton County Humane Society, 407 E. Nursery Rd., Rogers, 72756. Cremation arrangements are by Rollins Funeral Home of Rogers.
