Amanda Lee Cole, 47, of Broken Arrow, Okla., passed away Monday, Aug. 18, 2014, at her home. She was born April 26, 1967, in Poteau, Okla., the daughter of Joe K. and Elaine Stigler Thomas. Amanda was a member of New Haven Methodist Church in Tulsa and a senior vice president for Arvest Bank. Amanda's survivors include her husband, Johnnie Cole of the home; son, Jasper Cole of Broken Arrow, Okla.; her father, Joe K. Thomas and wife, Rita, of Poteau, Okla.; her mother, Elaine Thomas of Fayetteville; one brother, Ken Thomas of Poteau, Okla.; two sisters, Susan Thomas Mixon and Katie Hopper, both of Poteau, Okla. Amanda graduated from Poteau High School in 1985, attended Carl Albert State College in Poteau and Hinds Community College in Vicksburg, Miss. She graduated summa cum laude from Barret's School of Banking in Memphis, Tenn. In 2003, Amanda started working for Arvest Bank, rising to the position of in-store regional manager. Amanda always considered the proudest moment in her life to be her son Jasper's graduation from the University of Arkansas in 2013. She loved animals deeply, and raised two family dogs, Lucy and Roxie, as if they were her own children. Amanda also had a deep love for her family, her friends and her co-workers at Arvest Bank. She loved to travel, to walk her dogs, and to browse through junk shops and antique stores. She was a person of many talents, the greatest of which was her ability to make a genuine connection with people from all walks of life. Memorials may be donated to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memphis, Tenn., or to your local chapter of the Humane Society. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2014, at Moores Funeral Chapel in Fayetteville, Ark.
